287 Acres of Peas Harvested at Tumut

5 February 1951 The Grenfell Record and Lachlan District Advertiser

With regard to the production of peas, the cannery at Batlow produced 37,656 cases, each containing 48 x 16oz. cans, including a limited quantity of cases containing 24 x 30oz. cans.

Of the quantity produced about 20,000 cases were sold and despatched by 31st December, and   this should give sufficient turnover to bring the cannery out at a small profit.

No profit is taken until the goods are sold, so that whatever quantity is produced has no effect until sales are made.
