Artistically Executed Drawing of Bridge

10 April 1869 The Gundagai Times and Tumut, Adelong and Murrumbidgee District Advertiser

We have inspected a very carefully and artistically executed drawing by Mr. M. Russell of the Royal Alfred Bridge and High Level Approaches, complete.

This work of art, which is an isometrical perspective, to a scale of 60 feet to the inch, is to be photographed, and the facsimiles thus obtained will measure about 22 inches in length by 10 in inches in width.

A foot note on the plan gives a concise account of the disastrous flood of 1852, which led to the removal of the northern township to its present site, and demonstrated the & necessity of the erection of the bridge and approaches to insure facility of transit in all seasons.

The photograph will form an interesting record, and will also furnish the only complete view that can be obtained, of this, the largest and most important' work of the kind in the colony.

We trust this interesting work of art will be duly appreciated, and that our townsmen will avail themselves of the opportunity that will be afforded to them of securing copies.

In a few days these photographs will be obtainable at this office
