The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser

29 December 1805

His Excellency has been pleased to direct that the west side of the Nepean River be named Camden County; the southern boundary of which is the Course of the Nepean to the pass at Stone-quarry Creek, and from thence westward until hereafter limited and defined: Its north boundary to be at the confluence of the Hawkesbury, Nepean, and Grose; and continued in a west line until hereafter limited and defined.

And it being necessary that a police should be established for that County, the Governor has appointed Walter Davidson Esq. of Belmont to be His Majesty's Justice of the Peace for the said Camden County; and Thomas Harper to be Chief constable who are to be respected and assisted in the discharge of those duties.
