Death of Mr. J. Broughton

Tumut, Friday.

Mr. James Henry Edward Broughton who died at his home Gadara Gilmore at the  age of 73 after a short illness was one of the pioneers of the district

He died in the home where he was born.

He was a son of the late Robert Kennedy Broughton and a grandson of Commissioner William Broughton who came to Australia with First Fleet.

Mr. Broughton was on authority on land and stock, and a successful grazier.

He leaves a widow (formerly Miss A. Smith), a son (James) and two daughters (Mrs. T. Burbury and Miss Rhoda Broughton).
