8 November 1937 Daily Advertiser (Wagga Wagga)

History will be made in Tumut to-day when the State Governor (Lord Wakehurst) accompanied by Lady Wakehurst, will visit the town to lay the foundation stone of the new Tumut Hospital.

Their Excellencies arrived by car from Sydney yesterday afternoon and went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Brennan, Eurobin, seven miles from Tumut.

Mr. and Mrs. Brennan will act as host and hostess to the vice-regal visitors during their stay.

This morning after an official welcome at the Montreal Theatre, a visit will be made to the hospital, where the foundation stone will be laid, after which the official visitors will be entertained at morning tea.

They will return to 'Eurobin' for lunch and in the afternoon will attend the Tumut races.

At night they will be the guests at a vice regal ball in O'Brien's Hall.
