Harvesting first for Tumut

19 November 1881 Cootamundra Herald

We are pleased to find that an enterprising agriculturist on the Tumut side has introduced something like modern implements for harvesting.

Mr. Hoad took over this week one of Ramsay's strippers and winnowers - the first, we believe, for the Tumut district.

These will soon convince our Tumut friends of the folly of perpetuating the old-idea reapers and threshers.

Profitable wheat culture cannot be carried on now-a-days with the reaping hook and flail.
