Meeting of the Subscribers at Yass

Yass. At a Meeting of the Subscribers to the Protestant Church and Parsanage-house, held in the Courthouse at Yass, on Tuesday, the 30th April. 1839, J R. Hardy, Esq, P M., in the Chair; it was proposed and carried unanimously –

That the Rev. Charles F. Brigstnoke be appointed Secretary; that Mr. B. C. Harrison be appointed Treasurer; that J. R. Hardy, Esq , Hamilton Hume, Esq , J. B. Sharp. Esq , and James Manning, Esq , be appointed Trustees.

That application he made to government to allow the site of the proposed Church to be removed from the allotment now assigned to it to the vacant ground to the right of the Parsonage house.

That the List of Subscribers at present received be published in the Australian and Herald newspapers, and the Subscribers called upon to pay the sums opposite their respective names.

That the following following genleman be requested to collect the subscriptions of persons in their immediate neighbourhood, and to pay the same as soon after receipt as convenient, to the Treasurer at Yass;- The Rev. Charles F. Brigstocke, Yass and Its vicinity; R. W Shadforth, Esq . Murrumbidgee, near Cavan; J. Manning, Esq, Cambramurra; W. Broughton, Esq, Burrowa.

That the Treasurer be authorised to pay from the Funds in his bands any sums on the order of not less than two of the Trustees.

That the Accounts of the Funds in future be audited quarterly from this date of the commencement of any of the contemplated works, and that Mr. Newton and Mr. Chisholm be appointed Auditors for that purpose.
