Murrumbidgee Bridge Update

10 May 1865 The Goulburn Herald and Chronicle

No more cylinders have yet arrived from the Fitzroy iron works, and it is a mystery when any will.

The absurdity is now fully apparent of contracting with such a company for so large a work, especially when they are only, in manner of speaking, commencing business.

The best time of the year for getting the cylinders into their resting place, is slipping by, without any work being done.

The result is that the prospect of the bridge being open for traffic inside three years is very remote indeed.

Without a doubt Gundagai is an unfortunate town.
