No Federal Road to Tumut

The Minister for the Interior, Mr. Kent Hughes, said yesterday that the Government would not construct a road from Canberra through Brindabella and Tumut to link up with the Hume Highway in southern New South Wales.

He was replying in the House of Representatives to Mr. Fuller Hume), who asked whether the Government Intended constructing such a road to open up thousands of acres of land.
