Obituary - Mr. Percy Blakeney

Messrs. Arthur and Roland Blakeney, of Tumut, have received word of the death of their brother, Mr. Percy Blakeney, in New Zealand at the age of 67 years.   

The late Mr. Blakeney left Tumut 46 years ago after serving his time at the tailoring trade with the late Mr. A. J. Jenkins.

He was an expert tailor, specialising in high-class work. and he followed the trade in Wellington, New Zealand, where he settled for many years.

He retired about eight years ago and purchased a property at Levin, New Zealand, where he devoted his time to gardening which he dearly loved.

He underwent a major operation a few months ago and appeared to be well in health but he passed away in his sleep on Friday week last. Deceased leaves a widow, one son John (Duneden) and one daughter Phylis (Auckland).   

Three brothers, Messrs. Arthur and Roland Blakeney (Tumut), Henry G. Blakeney (Brisbane), and two daughters, Ada (Mrs. Hastings, Manly) and Lillian (Mrs. Millar, King's Cross) also survive.
