Overland Party Have Arrived Safe in Adelaide

Hawkesbury Courier and Agricultural and General Advertiser, Windsor

10 September 1846

By a letter received by a gentleman in town, with a sight of which we have been favoured, we are glad to perceive that Mr. Howland Yeomans and his overland party have arrived safe in Adelaide.

The casualties amongst the cattle had been very few, amounting only to 16 in a herd of 490 - of the horse stock not one was lost.

The party was fourteen weeks on the road and had to contend with exceedingly wet weather throughout the journey, the whole of the creeks between South Australia and the Murrumbidgee being flooded.
