Albury, Thursday.

At a meeting of the Albury Municipal Council, a letter was read from Sir William Lyne regarding the erection of a monument to the late Hamilton Hume at Albury.

The writer stated that, he had talked the matter over with the Prime Minister, and was informed that the matter was one for the Premier of New South Wales, as it did not come within the scope of the Commonwealth Government. He stated that the officials had written to the Premier of New South Wales sending on the council's letter after he had interviewed them.
