SP Raid at Adelong - 54 Cases Next Friday

4 February 1947 Cootamundra Herald

At Adelong last Saturday afternoon 54 were marched up the main street in single file to the police station, following a raid by Sgt. Keating on an alleged S.P. betting shop.

No fisherman could boast of a bigger haul - 54 of the best - business men, professional men, graziers, shop assistants, and rural workers.

The sergeant, when his company was on parade, placed a constable as marker, and moved the parade off in single file to the police station, where the orderly room clerk took finger prints, filled in bail papers, made out charge sheets, etc..

Next Friday Mr. Hardwick, P.M., will hear the cases.
