Shearing Record at Ellerslie

1 November 1945 Daily Advertiser (Wagga Wagga)

With an unprecedented run the shearing shed at Ellerslie Station, Adelong, was within 2000 sheep of cutting out when the rains came.

Thirty-eight thousand sheep had been shorn in less than three weeks - an all-time record for the district.

However, the last three inches of rain over the week-end have thrown the tally back, and it is expected that it will be about the end of this week before this season's shearing is finished.
