The Hume Land Grant, Appin

The Sydney Morning Herald

4 July 1953

Sir,

The property known as Meadow Vale, near Appin, recently sold, presumably in included the grant of 100 acres ordered by Governor Macquarie in June, 1811, to Andrew Hamilton Hume, father of Hamilton Hume, and not, as reported in the "Herald" of June 27, to Andrew Hume, brother of the explorer. This brother died in infancy in October, 1808.

This property was willed by Andrew Hamilton Hume to my grandfather, Francis Rawdon Hume.

Marguerite Dale, Neutral Bay.
