Unselected Land at Tumut

Freeman's Journal

6 September 1890

There are 400,000 acres of unselected land in the Tumut electorate out of a total area of 1,250,050 acres, all of which is said to be first class, though a little rough and hilly.

The Government is to do something, it is said, shortly, to induce desirable families to take up land and settle down in the district.

One would have thought that the present land laws were liberal enough.
